How to Veiw Event Veiwer Logs

Windows Xp provides Event Log Service that rcords any application, security, and system activity in Event Viewer. Using this Event Viwer it's possible to obtain information about hardware, software, and system components. With the help of Event Viewer you can monitor security events on a local or remote computer. It's also provide a possibility to diagnose the source of current system, application and hardware problems. There are three types of Event Logs, namely: application, security system logs.

Follow these steps to view the details of an event:

1. Click "Start",  "Control Panel", click "Performance and Maintenance", then "Administrative Tools", and then double-click "Computer Management".

2. Expand Event Viewer, and then click the log that contains the event that you want to view.

3. In the details pane, double-click the event that you want to view.

  • To view the description of the previous or next event, click the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW.
